Our tours are designed to be a safe and enjoyable opportunity to explore the backwaters of the River Murray at a leisurely pace. They give you the chance to discover the unspoilt beauty of the Riverland Bookmark Biosphere and wetlands that are recognized as being of international significance under the RAMSAR agreement.
Most of the tours only require an average fitness level and are suitable for a wide range of ages but we can further tailor the experience to suit your age and fitness. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
The starting point for all tours will vary depending on customer demand and river conditions. Most start near Renmark but Loch Luna and Chowilla are alternatives.
Each tour is accompanied by a qualified and accredited guide who will provide basic skills instruction at the start of the trip.
1.5hr Moonlight Tours are available twice a month and are dependant on full moon and weather
Included:
Canoe and paddles; PFD; safety gear; drinking water; dry bag; instruction; experienced guide.
What to bring:
Clothes appropriate to the prevailing weather conditions. In hot weather a
towel or scarf to protect exposed legs. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat. Footwear that
can get wet or muddy. Appropriate medication if required (e.g. asthma -
ventolin). Camera and binoculars if you want.
Short Tour (2½hours):
Jane Eliza backwaters. A great introduction to canoeing or if time is short the way to get the feel for the area. Drinking water is provided. Prices start from $45 per person and $35 per child (5- 11 years)
Half Day Tour (3½Hours):
Enjoy an insight into the life of the local wetlands. A snack and drinks are provided. Prices start from $65 per person and $45 per child (5- 11 years)
Day Tour(8 hours):
This full day tour is conducted at a leisurely pace so you can
experience the wonders of the area. A picnic lunch and drinks are provided.
Prices start from $105 per person and $75 per child (5- 11 years)
